Who we Serve
Camp Boggy Creek is a residential Camp for children with chronic or life threatening illnesses. We provide traditional camping experiences that are memorable, exciting, fun, empowering, physically safe and medically sound.

We are able to do this because of the hundreds of doctors and nurses who lend their loving hearts and medical talents to these amazing children. Please consider joining us by volunteering for a family retreat weekend or week-long summer session. You will have the time of your life and provide a life changing experience for a seriously ill child and his or her family.
All medical volunteers must be Florida Licensed.
Our volunteer team includes Physicians, ARNP’s, PA’s, RN’s.
Some sessions include Pharmacists, Respiratory Techs, EMT’s and Paramedics.
We also require BLS. We prefer ENPC or PALS and 1 year of experience.

Additionally, Camp Boggy Creek hires 4 nurses for the summer. These are paid positions. You can request a job description by contacting: campnurse@BoggyCreek.org

Our weekend volunteers dance, swim, fish and cover our medical facilities for emergencies. You will have plenty of time to play with your patients and meet their families in a fun environment. In our modern ACLS medical facilities with 24 hour administrative back up, you will feel comfortable while you take advantage of our wireless to catch up on your charts or finish that novel you started in school. Camp provides your meals and linen and an air conditioned medical staff duplex for sleeping or hanging out. You should plan on arriving on Friday afternoon and leaving Sunday morning.

MD’s: We welcome adult physicians on the weekends since the parents accompany the children to camp. We also welcome residents and fellows.
PA’s & ARNP’s: Our extenders share a coordinated schedule with our nurses leaving plenty of time to relax or participate in camp activities.
RN’s: We prefer pediatric experience but are able to except a limited number of adult RN’s. We are always looking for RN’s who specialize in the specific illness or disease group being hosted at camp on a particular weekend.
RT’s: Are needed for KOVAC (our ventilator camp) and for Asthma weekends.
PM’s: Are assigned to various activity areas – must be local to camp.

Our summer volunteers are the backbone of camp. Our campers truly could not experience living “like normal kids”without medical oversight. Our summer volunteers participate in camper daily life to provide medical and nursing care and education. We dance, we swim, we fish while triaging or following-up on our campers. We educate our campers and counselors while helping them with arts & crafts. We work hard and play hard.Camp provides your meals and linen and you stay in an air-conditioned medical staff duplex for sleeping. We prefer that you dedicate yourself to the whole session but we understand that professionals are not always able to do this.
MD’s: We need specialty and general pediatricians for every session. We welcome fellows and residents. Our facility is modern and safe. MD’s collaborate with our full-time pediatrician to assure that campers’ needs are met. During your considerable amount of down time you can read, check-in on your home practice or play with campers. If space allows, MD’s can bring their families.
